So yes, I've always fancied joining a group, but having a young family and a job which I can't really guaratee a large amount of full weekends on a regular basis like many groups require. I was therefore wondering about looking into the possibility of doing shows on my own. I was looking for advice and help in maybe getting this on off the group.

That's better can see what you look like
Just to put your mind at rest we would rather have you for 1 day better than nothing but of course if you do a full weekend that would be great.

Oh ok, that is interesting to know. What kind of commitment does your group require?
Also where are a lot of the shows which they attend?

Just thinking gavin as you're West Midlands based are you doing the Black Country museum weekend on Saturday and Sunday?

As a group we are based all over the UK, we travel to the events not just keeping it local to one area.
We have done black country before but only as a day trip.
I'm not aware of any from your merry band attending.
Our next event is the festival of forties next weekend.

No one can attend every event, I myself have three kids and so do a fair few of us.
We would love to attend every event, but after all it is a hobby and no one expects you to attend all events, all we ask is that we know you are coming ( yes or no on the forum ) and that you adhere to the uniform regs posted on the relevant event.

Where are you based?
And what kit do you have?

Hi Ian, thanks for posting.
I'm based in telford, so pretty central to be fair.
I've got loads of kit, apart from the obvious uniform, I have mussette bag, down rope, gas mask, colt .45, Thompson(both replicas), entrenching tool, m3 & m2 knife, torch all the webbing, canteen, colt Ammo pouch, two Thompson pouches (belt and chest), grenades, two first aid kits on my helmet.

Think that's it.

If the following a discussion with the boss I was still ok to join how would I go about this?

Probably the best bet is to come and meet us at an event.
As I mentioned, festival of forties is our next event in Peterborough, which will be portraying 3rd armoured.
Kit can be lent if available for events as it does seem that you on a 101st set up.
Have a browse on the events list to see what you could attend.
I'm also working on photo shoot in November.
We are always looking to help out with questions and offer advice on what is what.

After this weekends show I'm away until late August (one of the positives of being a primary teacher), so my next show will be the victory show.
I will certainly be coming to one of your events for a chat.
